Welcome to GoodSeva. This Privacy Policy explains how we collect, use, disclose, and safeguard your information when you use the GoodSeva Driver mobile application ("App") and our platform services. Please read this policy carefully. By using the App, you agree to the practices described here.


1. Information We Collect

1.1 Personal & Driver Details

We collect your name, phone number, vehicle registration details, and driver licence information to verify your identity and assign trips correctly.

1.2 Real-Time Location Data

Background Location – Prominent Disclosure

The GoodSeva Driver app collects location data to enable trip tracking and live shipment updates even when the app is closed or not in use. This data is used solely to provide real-time cargo movement updates to shippers and to ensure driver safety during transit.

Specifically, we collect:

  • GPS coordinates (latitude & longitude) at regular intervals during an active trip
  • Speed and heading (direction of travel)
  • Location accuracy (GPS signal quality)
  • Timestamp of each location reading

Location collection begins when a trip is started and stops automatically when the trip is completed or the driver ends tracking. Location data is buffered locally on-device and synced to our servers in batches every 30 seconds.

1.3 Device & Battery Information

We collect battery level at the time of each location reading to ensure reliable tracking and to alert drivers when battery may affect service continuity. We may also request permission to disable battery optimisations to prevent the OS from interrupting background location tracking during active trips.

1.4 Camera & Photo Data

We access your device camera for two specific purposes:

  • Identity Verification (Driver Selfie): A one-time photo captured before starting a trip to verify that the authorised driver is performing the service. This image is securely uploaded for audit purposes only.
  • Incident / Issue Reporting: Live photos captured as proof when reporting an incident during a trip. Gallery uploads are disabled — only live camera capture is permitted to ensure evidence integrity. Photos are attached to the incident report and sent to GoodSeva administrators.

Photos are not shared with third parties and are not used for marketing.

1.5 Trip & Activity Data

  • Trip IDs, pickup/delivery addresses, cargo type, scheduled times
  • Trip status updates (pickup started, cargo loaded, in-transit, delivered)
  • PIN verification events (pickup PIN, delivery PIN)
  • Inferred activity type (stationary, walking, cycling, in-vehicle) based on speed

1.6 Device Identifiers

A randomly generated anonymous visitor ID is created on first app launch and stored on your device. This ID is used to associate location batches with a device session. It contains no personally identifiable information and is not linked to your name or phone number.


2. How We Use Your Information

  • Provide live shipment tracking to shippers and logistics operators
  • Verify trip milestones (pickup, delivery) using PIN confirmation
  • Ensure driver identity and trip security
  • Enable incident/issue reporting with photographic evidence
  • Calculate trip distance and estimated arrival times
  • Maintain trip logs for dispute resolution and audit purposes
  • Improve the reliability and performance of our platform

3. Data Sharing & Disclosure

We do not sell your personal data to third parties. We may share data with:

  • Shippers / Consignors: Real-time location and trip status updates are shared with the shipper whose cargo you are transporting.
  • GoodSeva Administrators: Trip logs, incident reports, and photos are accessible to authorised GoodSeva staff for operations and support.
  • Cloud Infrastructure Providers: Data is stored securely on cloud servers (e.g. AWS S3 for photos, PostgreSQL for trip data). These providers process data only on our behalf under data processing agreements.
  • Legal Requirements: We may disclose information if required by law, court order, or to protect the rights, property, or safety of GoodSeva, its users, or the public.

4. Data Retention

  • Location points are retained for 7 days on-device after being synced, then deleted automatically.
  • Trip records and event logs are retained for the duration required by applicable logistics and tax regulations.
  • Photos (identity verification, incident reports) are retained for audit and dispute resolution purposes.

5. Data Security

We implement industry-standard security measures including HTTPS/TLS encryption in transit, access controls, and secure cloud storage. However, no method of electronic transmission or storage is 100% secure. We encourage you to report any suspected security issues to support@goodseva.com.

6. Permissions Summary

The GoodSeva Driver app requests the following device permissions:

  • Location (Foreground & Background): Required for trip tracking
  • Camera: Required for identity verification and incident reporting
  • Storage / File Access: Temporary caching of location data and photos
  • Battery Optimisation Exemption (Android): Required to prevent OS from suspending background location during active trips
  • Internet Access: Required to sync data with our servers

7. Your Rights

You have the right to:

  • Request access to the personal data we hold about you
  • Request correction or deletion of your data
  • Withdraw consent for location tracking (this will prevent use of the App during active trips)
  • Request a copy of your trip data in a portable format

8. Children's Privacy

The GoodSeva Driver app is intended solely for professional use by registered commercial drivers. We do not knowingly collect data from individuals under the age of 18.

9. Changes to This Policy

We may update this Privacy Policy from time to time. Any changes will be posted at https://goodseva.com/driver-privacy-policy with an updated effective date. Continued use of the App after changes constitutes acceptance of the updated policy.

10. Google Play Data Safety Compliance

In compliance with Google Play's data safety requirements, the GoodSeva Driver app:

  • Collects precise location data — used for app functionality (trip tracking), shared with shippers
  • Collects photos/videos — used for identity verification and incident reporting, not shared with third parties
  • Does not collect data for advertising or analytics purposes
  • Provides prominent in-app disclosure before requesting background location permission
